Freeway Hero Michael Bivins
I was technically born in California but was not even a year old when my parents moved to the Tri-Cities where I spent the rest of my childhood. My actual start in radio came while I was attending Kennewick High School and took a radio/TV course at the Tri-Tech Skill Center. That sparked my interest in radio and led to my first job at KONA, an independent news and adult contemporary station well loved in the community. I've been a traffic reporter in the Pacific Northwest for more than ten years. I may have grown up in the Tri-Cities, but this has become home. In my free time I'm a voracious reader. I'm often teased for my tendency to finish a book in just one or two days. The staff at the library practically know me by name. When not reading, I'm likely to have a guitar or a video-game controller in my hands. I'm glad to be here to help you through your commute!
